Somehow or another, whilst knitting my latest shawl I dropped a stitch half way through the work and still managed to keep the pattern correct!
I did not notice this until after I had blocked it and wore it several times!
This event is a positively shocking, stunning, horrifying and amazing feat if I do say so myself!!
How it managed not to become a full blown nightmare is truly a mystery.
OMG, do you think this could become an Urban Legend?
And to make matters worse I can not repair it properly because I tossed out the minuscule scrap of yarn that was left over!!
I did place an ISO in Ravelry for 6 inches of Knit Picks Shimmer color Sherry, so fingers crossed that someone will rescue me or perhaps you could. If not, I suppose I shall use some matching sewing thread to tack it down.
It's not the best option but it will do in a bind and it would certainly look better than the green plastic locking marker that is there now.

There is no doubt in my mind that it is my destiny to become the Queen of the Bloomin' Knitiots for 2009/10.
Would someone please place the crown on my head now and get it over with?

I hope you find your yarn! It's amazing that it kept together for so long - I did that with an afghan and didn't notice until my toe was through!

I think you were pretty lucky! However, if you do end up with the title at least it has a nice looking crown! Wish I could help with the yarn but I can't....

I cannot believe that you blocked it, wore it a few times, then discovered it!! I do think that this could become and urban legend, just like the exploding knitting needles.
Well, hope you can fix it properly.

I wish I had some shimmer in that colorway to send you. I got a little overzealous with my blocking of my rippled-baby-blanket project, http://www.ravelry.com/projects/TripletMom/rippled-baby-blanket. I went back to see if it was dry only to discover a hole right where the feather & fan pattern stitches should have been. After a good cry, I calmed myself & fixed it as best I could. Saddly, I think most knitters have dealt with this in some form. You are not alone...we have all worn the crown from time to time, but at least we were pretty & sparkly when we wore it:)

I'd send you some if I had it! Glad you caught it before it got any worse! I have nightmares about these things!

Honestly, I'd go with the sewing thread solution: it will lay smoothest and you won't have to wait.
