My sweet little DPN's have been devoid of inspiration as of late, but today that is about to change. Cat Bordhi latest book has breathed new life into my sock knitters soul.
The yarn has been chosen and the imagination has been set free. Let the sock knitting begin!
As I was perusing my newest acquisition, my hubby glanced at the cover and exclaimed, "That's what I want!"
I gasped.
With careful consideration before I spoke, I inquired: What exactly do you like about these?
I like the length. Nice long socks to keep my legs warm.
O.K. Do you like the pattern?
No, I just like the length.
(Massive sigh of relief. I don't think I could manage Fair Isle knitting, just yet.)
Well, I think I can do that. How soon would you like these socks?
Now that its spring I think I can wait a wee bit. Let's say October, for my birthday.
Sounds good to me. What color would you like?
How about gray. I like gray.
You only like that color because it reminds you of a battleship. Don't you want something different?
Nope.
Typical sailor. You can take the man out of the Navy but you can't take the Navy out of the man.
All-right, gray it is. What about the pattern?
Just a basic rib would be fine.
(See the muggle is catching on. He knows what a rib pattern is.)
So in essence your telling me that you want a very long, very boring pair of gray socks in a simple rib pattern.
Precisely.
Well, it looks as if I have some yarn to order, a leg to measure and a pattern to design. What have I gotten myself into?
Ciao, Bella
P.S. If I did not love this man and I do love him crazy, I would have told him to knit his own pair of socks! Oh, the things we do for love.....
